Week 1 – Meet and Greet

Today we met to meet all the apprentices.  There were five present at the meeting today.  Jennifer, Devera, Patty, John and Joseph.  We will meet the other four at 9News on Thursday where we will be introduced on Rob Proctor’s morning segment on My20 at 8:30 am.

Rob, Julie and Julie from Channel 9 met with us to explain what we will be doing.

Today we learned the tools we need to garden are:

  • a sharp trowel or Rob’s favorite tool a Japanese fishing knife (very sharp)
  • pruners
  • gloves
  • sunscreen and  bug spray
  • kneeling pad
  • bucket or bag to keep them in

Every Thursday we will meet at the garden and do something different.  We will be doing a vegetable garden, perennials and annuals, and container gardens.  I will be posting photos and details of our progress every week.  Each week the Channel 9 crew will be there to do a live show of the activities for that day for Rob’s Thursday show on 9News on My20, the channel 9News switches to at 7:00 am every morning.

PS: If you look on Rob’s Blog just under the calender, I’ve included an “RSS Feed” for this blog… hope that’s ok!
