Week 25 – Plant cover-ups for frost

Today we didn’t have a truck so a few went to the station and showed a new product to cover plants during frost.  It seems crazy with the heat we’ve been having that we would be talking about this right now but the first frost could be sooner than we think.  It’s already dipping down in the lower 50’s some nights.  Plants can stay out in our warm days but need to be covered if there is danger of frost.

A lady in Ft Collins came up with a new way to use frost  blankets to protect her plants.  She took some blankets and cut and sewed them into shapes to cover her plants and added drawstrings and ties.  She doesn’t do this herself anymore, there is a new company that produces these frost bags and blankets.  The company is called FrostProtek.  You can check out her product at FrostProtek.com.  I heard you can purchase these at stores but I don’t know where so check out their website for locations.

So far, so fun.
