Week 27 – It’s time to plant perennials, trees and shrubs

Sorry about the sporadic posting lately.  We used to go every Thursday to the garden and film live segments.  Lately they have been coming on Wednesday and we tape two segments to be shown the next two weeks.  Now, it appears we even get preempted even though it is already tape so there was a week delay in showing this second segment as well as a week delay in taping two new segments..  Here are two new segments and we’ll be caught up.

Today while we were taping it was raining.  The flowers colors really pop in the overcast light.  And what flower doesn’t look good all dewy with water droplets.

It’s time to plant fall bloomers like Mums, Autumn Joy Sedum, and grasses that are blooming right now.  You can plant any perennials and they still have time to take hold and get an established root system.  The soil is still warm and the weather is not so hot so it’s a perfect time for planting.  If it gets too dry just remember to water them so their roots can take hold.

Happy Gardening!!
